What we cover, and what it’s for.

American Home Life writes six plan families. They cover different things, in different ways, for different parts of life, but they share a single approach: simple to understand, predictable to live with, and free of buried fees. Here’s how to figure out which one fits.

Lifelong coverage

Permanent protection that doesn’t expire.

Two ways to do permanent coverage. Whole Life is the fully underwritten path, with larger face amounts and the most flexibility in how you pay. Final Expense is the simplified-issue path, sized for a specific job and qualified on a short application. Both pay a guaranteed death benefit and build cash value over time.

Permanent · Two plan families

Whole Life

Lifelong coverage with a level premium, a guaranteed cash value, and a guaranteed death benefit. Choose the participating plan family for eligibility for annual dividends, or the value plan for the same guarantees at 15–30% lower cost.

Final Expense

A smaller whole life policy, written without a medical exam. Issued for ages 0 to 85, on a short nine-question application. Helps cover funeral, burial, final medical bills, and outstanding debts, on a single decision-day.

Term coverage

Maximum coverage per dollar, for a defined window.

Term life is built for the years your family most needs the protection, covering a mortgage, raising kids to adulthood, replacing income to retirement. Premium and benefit are guaranteed level for the full term. And every term policy is convertible to a whole life policy down the road, without a medical exam.

Term · 10 & 20 year

Term Life

Two level term lengths: a 10-year and a 20-year. Both lock in your premium and your death benefit for the full term, both include the conversion privilege at no additional cost, and both are typically the most affordable life insurance plans we offer.

Funeral planning

Decisions made now, not at the hardest moment.

Preneed is a different shape than the rest of our coverage. It begins at a funeral home: you sit down with a funeral director, plan the service the way you’d want it, and lock in today’s prices. American Home Life provides the funding policy that pays the funeral home when the time comes.

Through funeral homes · Available in KS, NE, OK, OH

Preneed

Funeral funding sold exclusively through participating funeral homes. The price you arrange today is the price your survivors won’t have to find later, sheltering loved ones from years of inflation between now and then.

Savings

A floor on what your money earns.

A different kind of product from our life policies: a flexible-premium annuity built to be approachable. Start small, add to it on your own schedule, and earn at least the contract’s guaranteed minimum interest, even when rates elsewhere don’t.

Flexible-premium · 5-year surrender

Annuities

Available as both a qualified (IRA) and non-qualified annuity, depending on whether you’re saving inside or outside of a retirement account. Same underlying contract, two tax wrappers. No hidden fees or charges.

Supplemental health

Cash help when a hospital stay upends the month.

Hospital Indemnity is a different shape of coverage from our life plans. It pays a fixed cash benefit for covered hospital events, money you can put toward deductibles, travel, time off work, or anything else, on top of whatever health insurance you already carry. It’s underwritten by American Home Life and offered through our agents as the IdealFlex Series.

Supplemental · IdealFlex Series

Hospital Indemnity

A base plan covers events like emergency room and urgent care admissions, observation stays, and mental health confinement, with optional riders for ambulance, outpatient surgery, skilled nursing, and serious-diagnosis benefits. Benefits are paid in cash, directly to you.
